A Trinidad payment integration has several moving parts
Bank or processor onboarding
Republic Bank publishes a Republic EPay merchant application for ecommerce. First Citizens publishes an ecommerce gateway with TTD settlement, while Scotiabank publishes Scotia eCom+ hosted payments. Each provider controls its own merchant approval and technical requirements.
Platform compatibility
The gateway has to work with the store platform or custom application. Some providers use hosted payment pages; others require a plugin, API or custom integration.
Security and compliance
First Citizens states that its hosted payment page is provided through First Atlantic Commerce and is designed around PCI DSS requirements. The merchant still needs to follow the provider’s compliance instructions.
Production testing
Use sandbox or test credentials where available, then verify successful and failed payments, redirects, notifications, order states, refunds and reconciliation before taking live orders.
