Start with the brief behind the design

Describe the business, the people it serves and the impression it needs to make. Include the name exactly as it should appear, existing brand material and the places the identity will be used. A sign, profile image, invoice and website header impose different practical constraints.

We use that information to agree the creative direction and deliverables. The number of concepts, revision rounds, final formats and additional applications should appear in the proposal. Clear approval criteria make feedback more useful than a general request to make something stand out.

What files should a logo package contain?

Vector artwork can be resized without the pixelation associated with enlarging a small raster image. Adobe identifies formats such as SVG, AI and EPS among common vector formats. The appropriate delivery set depends on the design and its uses.

Ask for versions suitable for your website and print supplier, plus transparent-background exports where needed. Include a readable small-size version and a single-colour treatment when these are in scope. Agree which editable source files are included and how third-party fonts or stock elements are licensed.

Make the identity usable in real situations

A logo needs to work on a phone as well as on a large display. We review legibility, spacing, colour combinations and the backgrounds where it will appear. A short usage guide helps staff and suppliers use the identity consistently.

A restaurant could need menu artwork and a social profile image; a professional service could need a proposal cover, email signature and presentation layout. These are illustrative applications. Your actual package follows the needs identified in the brief.

Graphic design that supports the message

For a promotion, begin with the offer, audience, channel, conditions and desired response. Confirm the copy before the artwork is finalised. Long text squeezed into a small social graphic is difficult to use; supporting detail can live in a caption or relevant website page.

We can scope flyers, digital advertisements, social graphics, business stationery and other agreed applications. Printing, delivery, product photography and specialist production need their own specifications and quotations where applicable.

How pricing and revisions are handled

The work depends on the concepts, applications and file preparation required. A new identity and a single promotional graphic are different briefs. Request a quote that names the outputs, revision allowance, turnaround time and any licensed assets.

Feedback is most productive when one person consolidates the comments. Check spelling, contact numbers, product information and print dimensions carefully at approval. Changes after final production can create additional work.

Protect continuity when refreshing a brand

Bring the existing logo and examples of its use. Identify what customers already recognise and what is causing practical problems. We can preserve useful elements while developing the agreed refresh, then prepare a rollout list for your public touchpoints.

A design engagement does not itself establish trademark clearance or registration. Any legal protection requirement should be assessed with an appropriate professional. To get started, share the business name, intended uses and current files through the initial project discussion.
